Mundo de las Abejas House is part of El Colmenar, a rural complex located in Chóvar, in the heart of the Sierra de Espadán. Its identity is born from the beekeeping world that gives the project its name and is defined by three very recognisable references: bees, beekeepers, and bee-eaters.
Inspired by the heart of the hive, this room connects guests with the world of bees as a symbol of order, shared work, and natural life. It is a space designed for those who want to sleep within the purest vision of El Colmenar.
Inspired by those who have learned to live alongside bees and to obtain nature’s products from them, this room represents the relationship between humans and beekeeping. It offers a more craft-based experience, rooted in tradition and in the human bond with the hive.
Inspired by the bee-eater, one of the most beautiful and striking birds associated with the world of bees, it introduces a wilder and more colourful dimension to the house. Its presence brings contrast and life to the whole.
What makes this house special is that it is not inspired by a generic idea of the countryside, but by a very specific universe: that of bees, beekeeping, and everything surrounding it.
The Bee Room represents the origin and essence of the hive.
The Beekeepers’ Room connects with the craft and tradition.
The Bee-eaters Room brings the most vibrant and natural dimension of the environment.
The Mediterráneo House is part of El Colmenar, a rural complex located in the heart of Chóvar, between rural Spain and the proximity of the Mediterranean coast.
Its identity comes from three elements that define this way of life: the Mediterranean Sea, with its calm and openness; the sun, with its warm, vital light; and the Mediterranean character, linked to simplicity, closeness, shared living, and the serene enjoyment of spaces.
Inspired by the Mediterranean Sea, this room conveys freshness, clarity, and a sense of spaciousness.
The Mediterranean Sea is not defined by the wild force of other oceans, but by its balance, its light, and its ability to invite rest. That same feeling is reflected here in a space designed to relax, breathe, and let time pass more gently.
Inspired by the Mediterranean sun, this room connects with the brightest, warmest, and most welcoming side of the landscape.
It is not only about the sun as a climate feature, but as a way of living: opening the windows, living with more clarity, enjoying a slower rhythm, and feeling that calm energy that accompanies the villages and homes of the Mediterranean.
The Mediterranean House is not inspired only by the landscape, but also by a way of living.
The Mediterranean character speaks of light, closeness, long meals, conversation, rest, open doors, and a more gentle relationship with time and space.
This way of understanding life is reflected in this house through a more open, bright, and welcoming atmosphere.
