Inspired by the native Mediterranean flora, which—thanks to the climate, sun, and characteristic sea breeze—gives our Mediterranean forest unique qualities highly valued by our honeybees, which gather nectar from these flowers to later turn it into honey.
Representing two of the most important Mediterranean plant species, we have the Almond Tree Room and the Cork Oak Room.
The almond tree is one of the predominant crops of the Mediterranean, its fruit—the almond—used in the preparation of many foods. In Chóvar, our village, almond cultivation is one of the main drivers of local agriculture. It is highly recommended to taste the honey derived from almond blossoms, which has significant beneficial properties.
The cork oak and holm oak are the wild trees that dominate our Sierra de Espadán, and from them comes the highly prized and rare acorn honey, with its intense jet-black color.
